Protection:

  • Avoid Water Exposure: HDF is more water-resistant than regular MDF but can still swell if exposed to excessive moisture. Clean up spills immediately.
  • Use Coasters and Mats: To avoid scratches or stains, always use coasters under glasses and mats under hot dishes or objects.
  • Limit Direct Sunlight: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can fade or warp the surface over time. Place furniture away from windows or use blinds/curtains.

Handling

  • Move Carefully: When moving HDF furniture, lift it instead of dragging to avoid damaging the joints or scratching the surface.
  • Temperature Control: Keep the furniture in a room with stable temperatures. Extreme heat or cold can cause the material to expand or contract, leading to warping or cracking.
